Cami turned 6 this month. For her birthday she decided that she wanted to have everyone decorate their own cakes. And she also wanted an easter egg hunt (a yearly tradition). So I baked some cakes (16 to be exact) and made some frosting (2 POUNDS of butter and 4 POUNDS of powdered sugar) and set out a bunch of candy! The kids loved decorating their own cakes. We had a cake decorating contest (everyone won an award). The kids had a great time. Then they went out for an easter egg hunt. Instead of candy in the eggs, they were filled with tickets. Then the kids were able to redeem their tickets in our little "toy store". We also played some games and for each game the winner won MORE tickets. At the end of the party we let all the kids go to the toy store and use their tickets to buy toys. So, the kids all took home their cakes and their toys... no goody bags for me to make- hurray! We all had a great time. Cami is such a sweet heart. We love her so much. She is so happy and grateful. My daughter loves to help people and she is such a joy to have around. We love our Cami.

Cami's Birthday

Cami turned 6 last weekend. For Cami's birthday she got a little money and she was finally able to purchase an ipad 2. She has been saving up for about 9 months and with the additional $50 she got for her birthday she was finally able to buy her ipad. I am proud of her will power. She has been so strong, she has not spent any money, always keeping the end goal in sight. Great job, Cami!!
Easter Egg Hunt

We are lucky to have a friend who invites us to her home the saturday before easter for an easter egg hunt. When we lived in Utah all egg hunts were held on Saturday, but here in California, all hunts are held on Sunday. Thankfully we have friends who also don't want to do egg hunts on Sunday and so we are able to put together a pretty great hunt for our kids. Here are some pictures from the hunt and lunch. The kids really got a ton of eggs. Several dozen EACH. Most of you know that my kids only eat candy one day a week, so after eating a ton of candy on Saturday (their candy day for the week) we decorated some cans (big coffee size cans) and let them store their candy until their next sugar day. We are all stocked up for a couple of months (i hope!). I am so glad to have some good friends who have the same values as we do.
Easter Baskets

In our family we have the Easter Bunny visit us on Saturday morning, so that on Sunday we have none of the worldly celebrations interfering with our Sabbath day Easter.
So, on Saturday morning the baskets were a big hit. The kids got swimwear, goggles and towels with a few treats. The bunny brings swimwear every year, thank goodness, as it seems during the Summer we never seem to have enough swim suits to last. We swim every day, usually several times a day and we usually go boating a few times a week, at least. So, we wear out our swimwear quickly. Max got a new suit, even though he is not a fan of water, presently, we have faith that that will change soon. He also got a new book and a stuffed animal.
Easter

I haven't had a lot of time to blog lately. I have no excuse, just lazy, I guess.
We had some friends come and dye eggs with us last week. We went through 7 dozen eggs... we still have about 5 dozen in our fridge!!! We need to eat a lot more eggs this week. The kids had a great time. Grayson was not home, he was at a birthday party- poor guy missed out on the fun. The little boy with Cami is our neighbor. We love him and his WHOLE family. they are fabulous. Cami and Danny (the little boy in the pictures) have plans to get married after Danny's mission. They plan on getting married in the temple. They cannot kiss until they get engaged (I am enforcing that rule personally). I love that they are both so frank about it... it's TOO STINKING CUTE! So, I try to capture pictures of the two of them together whenever I can, you know, wedding videos :)
