Finger painting gone wrong!

Well, Gloria was given some paints for her b-day. The kids have been asking repeatedly to use them. I gave in this weekend and let them paint while I was doing dishes... when I looked outside, let's just say I immediately grabbed the camera!! The kids had fun, and clean up was fun also, although the tub water was bluish black and so I had to wonder if they were getting clean at all.

The fire house

We have a fun little group of mommies who take field trips once a week to different locations. This past week we went to the fire station. What a fun time. The kids learned how to STOP-DROP-AND ROLL. They got hats and stickers and coloring books.

Gloria's birthday

We celebrated Gloria's birthday this week. We had such a fun time!! We had a "Knight's and Princess" party. Travis made swords out of swim-noodles, plastic piping and duct tape. What a great idea. The kids had a blast. We also played "Dungeon and Dragon"- a game of tag (basically) where I was the dragon and I chased the kids. When they were tagged, they went to the dungeon, and the only way to get free was to have another kid come and tag your hand and help you off of the couch (that was our dungeon). Eventually, all the kids got a turn to be the dragon- which they loved. We also built towers- the knights against the princesses. I gave the kids 20 blocks apiece, had my hubby get out a measuring tape, and we had the teams see who could build the tallest "tower". The winning team (the girls) were served cake and icecream first. It was a great time. A super simple party- one of the best!

Our Washington and Oregon trip

We are finally home from our vacation!! It was a great vacation and fun to see our family.
We left on a Tuesday morning, about 7:00am on Skybus Airlines. We arrived into Bellingham Washington at 8:05am. There is a 3 hour time difference, so we actually gained time!! After our flight, we rented a car and drove 6 hours to Oregon to visit my brother Curtis in their home. Here are some pictures from Oregon. All of my siblings, except Marie, were able to make it! Curtis and HEather live in a really cute, small town. It was a blast.

In Washington, we visited with my parents and a TON of family!!! We had a great time. It was cold, but so fun. The kids love their cousins and never wanted to leave them. I will write more tomorrow!

a few more pictures of the kids

I wanted to put a few more pictures up of the kids. They had so much fun!!
Gloria's 5th birthday is coming up soon. We are trying to decide what she will do for her birthday party. She wanted an "ice princess" party and to go ice skating. But Travis decided it would be scary to take a bunch of 5 year olds ice skating. He was sure someone would come home with a broken bone. So- she is thinking of maybe bowling? Or a Knights and Princess at home. I am personally rooting for a bowling party- so much easier to put on!!! Grayson is excited for his birthday, as well. I told them- let's take it one birthday at a time. Travis's is next!!!

chart reward

Yesterday Travis took the kids to "Galaxy Games and Golf" for Graysons reward for filling his star chart. They had such a great time- unfortunately I could not go as I had a presidency meeting. But it was great for Travis got to spend the time with them because he had just gotten back home- he was gone for 4 days to Cincinnati for "Ohio Project". The kids had a great time at Galaxy Games, the love it there!!!
Today we got some sand for our "new-to-us" sand box. The kids had so much fun playing in the sand box. Oh, the simple things that make them happy!
Travis is doing more house fix-ups. He is installing new cabinets tonight. Thanks, Hun!
I painted the kids room this week while travis was gone. I put cars around the room for Gray, and my sister found some fairy's for Gloria. I am so happy that Gray won't have to sleep in a PINK room anymore!!!

Our chart is done

The kids each have charts that they get stickers on when they do certain things (Grayson gets a star when he does his own seat belt, when he wipes -yipee- and when he eats his food all by himself, oh the joys of kids doing their own stuff. Gloria gets starts for helping out with Cami- which she does an EXCELLENT job of, when she does her chores and says her daily prayers. I truly wish Cami understood the sticker chart- she would get a star every 5 minutes that she went without a tantrum!!! ).
Our charts are done and now the kids get to go ice skating!!
We were going to go to slate farm today, but the weather is too hot! So we stayed home!
