Better late than never...

Here are a few more pictures of our Halloween season. We carved pumpkins- went trick or treating for the first time in 7 years, and Olivia did a school celebration.  It was a lot of fun and the kids have fallen in love with trick or treating. I am sure they will want to go every year from now on!

A Few Pictures of our house

During October we moved to a new home.... I have not taken a lot of pictures (I noticed as I was looking for some to post on the blog)- but here are a few that I have gotten over that past six weeks.  We are absolutely in love with our new home. We can see ourselves here forever. We can see grandkids coming to visit. It is a beautiful home and with a few cosmetic changes (green carpet in every room, including bathrooms and tile countertops... gray paint everywhere) it will be the perfect home!  We love it here and feel like we finally fit into a home!

Some more of our crazy November

Max and Annie have some special needs as they were both born with drugs in their systems. They are very smart and capable kids. They will be fine. But to help with a few of their delays and needs they both have a few people who come to our home to help them and we also go one day a week to a "toddler class" for all the kids in the area that need some extra help. Max and Annie love their toddler class and enjoy all the fun activities that I absolutely do not allow into my home, except on special occasions. .. such as painting and glitter and a big tub of bird seed and play dough. There are always crafts and activities and singing and just fun. There are really no rules as this is more to help their social skills and their sensory issues. The kids look forward to it each week!
Two weeks ago Gloria took the kids out on a walk- she had the 2 little ones in the stroller and while she was out walking, she was bit by a dog! Needless to say, it traumatized her and the little kids too!  Max still cries whenever we say "let's go on a walk".  He still talks about the "white dog that bit Gloria".
We have some friends that we really enjoy hanging out with. They own a grocery store in town that we love to shop at. They have a new baby that Gloria loves to hold. They have 2 kids that are Max's and Olivia's age. We went to a birthday party at their house last week and they pulled out this fun ATV.  Brandon took the kids on rides and they LOVED it! They tried to tell Santa that they wanted one for Christmas.... good luck kids!

A bit of November

This month has FLOWN by!  I mean, it has just disappeared while I wasn't looking!  As a matter of  a fact, the past 4 months have been the most busy months of my entire life.  It has been so hectic. I do believer that the craziness is at an end (I mean, we'll always be busy, but just not AS busy as we have been).  I haven't even had time to blog about the kids new school.  We decided to send the kids to a private school this school year. It has been a great decision.  It is an amazing school with a lot of opportunities for the kids to advance and pursue the areas they excel in.  They have all been busy this month writing NOVELS.  Yes, that's right!! All the kids in the school are writing NOVELS and they are going to be published.  Their are only 20 kids in the school and there are 3 full time teachers and many part time teachers. While in school they get spanish lessons, piano lessons, guitar lessons, violin, ukelele, bass, or cello lessons. They have a greek mythology teacher, a surgeon to teach dissecting of eyes and other organs, an anatomy teacher, a herbologist (gardening) teacher and an art teacher. They begin their days singing and gathered in a group. They they slit into separate groups for math, science, language arts, english, geography and all the other classes they go to. The kids LOVE it and it has been a great investment. And one thing that I absolutely love is the the kids have a four day school week!!  That is the best!  Monday- Thursday.  The kids can move at their own pace...  and because there are only 2-3 kids in the core classes, if the children grasp a concept easily they don't have to wait for 30 kids to grasp it, they can just move right along to the next lesson.  The kids are just soaring and advancing quickly.  We did not send Olivia to the school, she is going to public school. I feel it is best if she gets a few years of social skills in a public setting before she heads to the other school. She is super sad and wishes that she went with the big kids- but her school is great and her teacher is amazing.  I don't have any pics of the school, but Gloria and her friends did some pictures of themselves during recess the other day, so here are some pics of Gloria and her friends at school.
Olivia turned 6 this month. We had a birthday party with a princess from Frozen. It was a lot of fun and we enjoy our cute little 6 year old!
