School this year is a little bit different for us. We decided to enroll the older kids in a private school. Olivia is starting school in a new school as we are moving soon and we didn't want to start her in a school and then have to transfer her 2 months into the school year. Both new schools are only 5 minutes away from each other... but 45 minutes from where we now live. So, we are doing quite a bit of driving right now. Olivia is loving kindergarten, like we knew she would. She is very social and very smart... a great combination for a successful student. She loves her teacher and has made quite a few friends. The older kids love their new school. It is very small, only 20 students total, grades 3-9. There are 3 students per grade. The kids love it and are getting a lot of personal attention. So far, so good. We are in the process of packing, buying and selling a home, going on too many vacations (3 during September, alone) trying to prepare for our nanny to leave (she is getting married in October... boo hoo), soccer for 3 kids- that's 6 practices a week.... and to top it all off 180 minutes of travel time for school each DAY!! (3 hours- crazy) So, hopefully things will settle down a bit when we move to our new home and are only minutes (7 to be exact) from school and soccer practice and even closer to church (hurray..... 35 minute drive reduced to 10... I can hardly wait). Things will be a bit smoother then, I can only hope.
I'll try to post some pictures soon.... last week was San Francisco, this weekend is Sacramento (Time out for women with Gloria) and then a 10 day trip to Cancun with the whole family to end the month!!
