Easter Egg Hunt

Olivia had an easter egg hunt at her preschool last week.
I love Olivia's preschool. There are 2 really cute ladies that run the preschool. Miss Debra and Miss Karin. Olivia loves her preschool. This year the school district has moved the deadline up for kids who will be registering for kindergarden. Travis and I have had to make a decision to send Olivia to Kindergarden or to send her to another year of preschool. After a lot of thought and prayer, we decided to leaver her in preschool for another year. It was not an easy decision as the preschool does Kindergarden evaluations for the kids who will be entering Kindergarden and they said that Olivia was easily the most advanced child in the class academically. She is one smart cookie. She also is a leader, she does not follow the crowds, she leads the crowds. She is happy and well adjusted (although they kept looking for signs that she might start regressing when Max entered the picture, it was a change for her to go from being the baby to being the big sister.... but that was a role Olivia was born for "big sister". I had no doubts that it would only help Olivia become a better person.). So, why would we keep her in preschool for one more year?  Even though Olivia is smart and happy, we love the preschool. We love the student to teacher ratio and love that when she has problems with sharing or talking nice to others, the teachers sit down with her and discuss (in a Christian way) why her behavior was inappropriate.  We feel that another year with this kind of direction can only benefit her. She is super spunky and we worry that if we send her to Kindergarden too early that she will be labeled as bossy or mean and we want to avoid that at all costs. We want school to be a good experience for her. Preschool has been a wonderful experience for her and she looks forward to school every day. I hope she loves school and learning for the rest of her life!
