We went to Utah over our Thanksgiving break. Thanksgiving is our favorite time to visit Utah. There are so many things to do. At Christmas it is so crazy with everyone trying to get in parties, plays, shopping, baking and everything else on their agenda and it makes it difficult to find time to get together. But at Thanksgiving, we get to see PLENTY of our family! We love it and it is our favorite time of year. The first night we got to Utah we had a sibling dinner with Travis's family. It was a really nice event and I hope we can make it an annual tradition. We loved seeing his family and talking. I feel like that was the first time I really got to sit and just talk with his family- we had left our kids home and so it was adults only. Perfect night! The next morning, at the crack of dawn, we headed to his brother's house where we met up with Kristy and Rob who agreed to take our family pictures. We are so excited. They do the best work out of anyone I know. I have tried SEVERAL photographers, trying to find one out here, but I don't like any as well as I like them. I snapped a shot of my kids while we were there... her's will look much better, but I do like any pictures of my 6 cuties. After pictures with Kristy and Rob, we ran to my moms house to get ready for my niece KayLee's first basketball game of the season. We had a blast cheering her on! Then we drove to my mom's church building where we had a full day event planned. We played with cardboard boxes, building mazes and timing ourselves as we raced through them. We played with a parachute and decorated table decorations. We had a photo booth and we had a nice big dinner with all the fixings! We had so much to do that we didn't even do our annual MUSICAL CHAIRS competition (my favorite game) or our prepared Karaoke war. Even though we missed out on a few things due to lack of time, we still had an awesome night. The next morning we woke up and headed to Grand America with my family for breakfast. We took some pictures while we were there. The cousins love each other so much and every one of us were there! It is the first complete picture of ALL siblings, in laws and grand kids. So fun! Then we went to my moms house and had a yummy turkey dinner with my mom and dad. Then we went on a walk- the weather was so great. It was in the 60's and we enjoyed being out doors. We went back home and spent time playing and relaxing. The next morning the kids who are 12 and older woke up and went to the temple. While the world is having black Friday, our kids like to have a white friday. Following their example, the adults did a session that afternoon. Then, movie/game/ ice cream night for everyone!!! Saturday we went to Travis's big extended family Thanksgiving dinner. It is so much fun to see Travis's family and mine. It is always a great time! Happy Thanksgiving.
